This weekends weather saw even the birds take shelter … unless they were water birds…
Butcher birds ventured onto the verandah ..

Searching for food for her young ..

Water logged from the wet.

Even the kookaburras sought refuge …

Perching on the fence …

Soaked to the bone.

Black ducks enjoyed the flooded turf farm …

As did the wood ducks.

Black swans returned to the lake …

Joining the black ducks …

As long as they didn’t get too close …

It’s certainly duck weather.

Terns flew across the flooded land …

Whilst seagulls wandered the shore in search of tit-bits.

And puppy dogs looked forlorn at being stuck inside, away from the wind and rain.

those wet birds in the intro made me smile –
our cat avoids running through the rain too …
Its hard to think that birds themselves dont like the extreme wet .. But they looked like drowned rats poor things
